Im an ex sky customer and during a dowtime with virgin last week i reconnected up my old sky+ box. Interestingly there was no channel 4 or 5 available. Is this normal, I just figured Id get everything that was available on freeview/sat.
Channel 4 and Channel 5 are both encrypted. Your entitlements will have expired as your card won't have been receiving updates (I assume the box has been disconnected), hence why you can't see them.
ah right, so is there no way I can get them back with the sky card? or would I have to buy one of the freesat cards? Was thiking of using it in one of the bedrooms.
Theres a chance if you left the box on with the old card still in place it may take an EMM which will update/refresh its entitlements, but it could take quite a few days. Alternatively you may have to phone Sky and ask for a refresh.
