Limit/Reduce Bandwidth on XP ?

I have 2 Pc's running thru a router to a 8Mb Broadband Modem.Is it possible to limit the Bandwidth/Speed of the Commection to a Pc without using ant addittional software . ?

You can achieve what you want by port throttling on a router that has this facility built in. I use a Draytek router with two ports throttled in both directions to limit bandwidth.

What about using Dr TCP and messing up the rwin etc.. ? I don't know how to do it exactly, but some people managed to limit there 10Mb connections to about 8Mb by accident just having it set up wrong.

With some proper help (from people who know what they are doing) it could be possible i guess.

Yep ! That's exactly what I did on two squabbling friends a few years ago, you'll have to play around with the values though, until you find the right ones.

sorry for intruding on the thread like this, but i didnt want to create a new thread,
im also looking for a solution to a similar problem,
what i wish todo is reduce the bandwidth to seperate computers
pc1 - (recieve only 1mb )
pc2 - (recieve only 2 mb)
pc3 - (full 4 mb) (i have 4mb internet)
does WRT54g (linksys) router do this ?

It is possible, but don't forget, if you have full speed on pc3, there will be little bandwidth left for the other 2 pc's.

Ifound some links about QoS Packet Scheduler Bandwidth Limiting in Windows XP and how to disable it.Couldnt it be done the other way and the limit be increased ?.
