=== Ask Media Boy ===
Q: WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR INFORMATION ABOUT VIRGIN MEDIA FROM?
A: I get all my info from Virgin Media workers (NOTE: I called them ''An Insider''), Virgin Media viewers, my blogs and Web Sites (NOTE: When I used web sites I will post an link to that web site).

Q: I HAVE GOT NEWS BUT I WORK FOR VIRGIN MEDIA AND I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO SEE MY USER NAME?
A: All you need to do is pm me right now and tell me what Virgin Media area you are from* and I will post your news on ''Coming soon to Virgin TV'' for you.

* = I also need to know you local cable network - was you in an Ex-Telewest, Ex-ntl or Ex-Cable & Wireless area before Virgin Media appeared.

Q: WHY AM I NOT GETTING ''CHANNEL Z'' FOR?
A: Some channels are only in some areas - Magic Radio is only in Ex-ntl and Ex-Cable & Wireless areas but Ex-Telewest area have got RTE Radio.

Q: WHY HAS VIRGIN MEDIA PULLED SOME LOCAL RADIO OFF EX-TELEWEST FOR?
A: The BBC Radio stations for England, Wales, Scotland and NI will replace them (But I do not know when that will be) but some of your local Radio Channels may move to Virgin Channel 937 - 950. They are already broadcasting in non Ex-Telewest areas between Virgin TV Channels 930 to 936. This is part of the process of aligning the Channels so that everyone can have the same Channels lineup.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

This is a continuation of the 'Coming Soon to Virgin TV' thread from last year, which you can find here:

http://www.cableforum.co.uk/board/11...virgin-tv.html

1. The old thread has been closed, but will remain for information purposes;
2.
Media Boy will collate all the information from his various sources and provide it to me once a week, indicating any changed items in bold text;
3. I will update the initial post to show the changes/amendments.

In addition to that
Media Boy will be on hand to answer any questions that arise and to provide links to other sources of information as they come up.

Could I please ask, in order to make the most of this new thread, that we try to stick as strictly as possible to the topic at hand.

Thank you

if we had Setanta Sport on Demand then those of us who don't get this channel for free could buy a one off event say a football or boxing match

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

true, but unless the made the PPV's very cheap i.e £5 or under then it probably wouldnt be worth paying for that compared to the monthly fee. Sky charge crazy prices for PPV £15.95 ish is crazy for a boxing match that will likely be boring, WWE is more acceptable as you know you are getting 2.5hrs or so of wrestling but for boxing anything over £5 is too much. But if they did this they would lose LOADS of subscribers who buy it to watch their football team play 4 matches a season or so on setanta.

As far as I know NASN is part of the Setanta deal sign in Summer 2007.

Disney has took over Jetix

Disney has struck a deal to move to full ownership of children's TV broadcaster Jetix Europe.

Previously, Disney owned 74% of Jetix Europe. Following last month deal, for an undisclosed sum, it will own 96% of the company.

The transaction was completed before the end of 2008. Disney said it intends to obtain ownership of 100% of the shares in Jetix Europe.

Disney acquired its original interest in Jetix Europe (formerly Fox Kids Europe), which reached 24 million subscribers, when it purchased Fox Family Worldwide from News Corp in 2001.

Info from Media Week.

Media Boy: I think Disney will rename Jetix again this time to Disney XD - An new channel that is set to launch in the US next month.

Re: Coming Soon to Virgin TV (2009)

Many thanks TV Boy for all your info about VM in 2008 and here's to you continuing your fine work in 2009.

I don't think I've seen this mentioned for a while so I thought I'd ask if there is any information as to whether BBC News multiscreen is ever likely to appear in ex NTL areas (I assume it is still available for those in fromer Telewest areas).
