Driver damages car after failing to spot wheel clamp
http://www.itv.com/news/london/updat...t-wheel-clamp/
This may not surprise a lot of members. But, l did wheel clamping for a couple of weeks.
Good point to mention that when a vehicles gets clamped. Didn't the driver see the sticker on his door or window. Or was he driving blind

Re: Wheel Clamp or was driver stupid
Now, I don't drive. so may be wrong here, but wouldn't the car shown a noticeable resistance to moving? I would have thought he would at least have noticed that he was having to push the accelerator a lot harder just to move.

Re: Wheel Clamp or was driver stupid
Depends on the car. It may not have not needed much more power than it would have taken to get out of a drain or get over a curb when leaving a space.
Saying that, I certainly would have noticed as soon as it happened, and not continued driving!

I thought that the clamp should be put on the drivers side.

How can anyone drive a car away and not notice a clamp on it

I suppose the same sort of people who drive miles on only three wheels without apparently noticing.

I've noticed that clamps are often fitted to the pavement side of the car so the fitter doesn't have to work in traffic.

Re: Driver damages car after failing to spot wheel clamp
The story is a bit light on detail unless I'm missing something. Since it was a DVLA clamp did the driver also fail to notice that the car wasn't taxed? was it being driven to a pre-arranged MOT?

You'd have to keep your fingers crossed that the Tester didn't notice the huge chunk of yellow metal attached to a wheel
