My sadness at leaving Sky

It may not be the right thread to start up, but for the past 10 years, l have been pondering the big move from Sky to another broadcaster, and did not think of the problems that came with.

Two weeks ago it was decided that Sky were becoming too expensive in this day of financial pressure.

We finally decided to join VM on a full time basis, but then we discovered the teething problems of VM.

Am l pleased at going fully to vm, I don't know time will only tell, as you can't go anywhere can you.

And before members say that l have ranting about VM for ages, I had both remember.

No but there still you and the great one left to serve thy master.

Re: My sadness at leaving Sky

So is this sadness at leaving Sky, or sadness at joining VM?

You do realise you could have just got Freeview or Freesat and then spent your subscription money on a pay-per-view service like Netflix? Or even a DVD-by-post service like LoveFilm? That's what I'd be doing these days, if I had enough disposable income to be considering buying more TV on top of what I already get free-to-air.

There's so little on any of the subscription TV channels I would actually watch, the effective price per episode of what I was actually sitting down to view on a weekday evening was absurd. I decided it would be better to subscribe to LoveFilm or whoever and just rent box sets of whatever prime US show Sky had the exclusive broadcast rights to. But after a couple of months I realised I didn't miss any of it half as much as I thought I did.
