Unhappy Switching off voice mail

My mum Nokia 3220 has this interesting bug with in she gets a voicemail the phone no longer recognises her SIM card until the message is deleted.

For some reason phoning her mobile and pressing star asks for but does not recognise her pin number so we can't delete the message that way.

Until we can buy her a new phone is there anything we can do to stop people using her voicemail like switch it off.

Dave

Re: Switching off voice mail

Ring your service provider, whether it be Virgin, o2, vodafone... etc. Then ask them if it's possible.

you can also (with Nokia`s ) just go into menu/call settings/ scroll up/down till it reads cancel all diverts and press select to undo this follow the same and select divert if not available- hope this helps

Re: Switching off voice mail

I've got a similar problem with a Nokia 3410 on Virgin Mobile. We bought the phone from Littlewoods back in November 2003 and during 2004, something happened. When we tried using WAP, it just froze and rebooted. We contacted Virgin Mobile three times and they sent new settings to the phone, but that didn't seem to help as the old settings just keep bouncing back, we've tried different Virgin sims and different O2 and Orange sims, but it still does the same thing. We also contacted Littlewoods and they were unable to send out a replacement due to the garuntee expiry. Does anyone know what this?
