Looking at their first two 'core values'. I have to say: 'Oh dear, never mind'

They also seem to speak another language.
I can't understand much of what they say.

Corbyn up in Manchester celebrating Andy Burnham, Mayoral win however, no sight of Andy Burnham himself.

Re: Local Elections - 2017
I'm surprised Corbyn is anywhere considering the the results. I thought he'd be hiding in a bunker somewhere.
Looks good for May in June though.

He only listens to people who tell him what he wants to hear and their numbers are dwindling.

Re: Local Elections - 2017
I have voted Labour all my life. BUT, will not in the GE. Corbyn was told in our local papers that he is a joke.
I strongly believe that Labour will get thrash in the GE. BUT, he wont quit. There will just be a no confidence vote an the Momentum will back him to the hilt.
We need a new leader ASAP

Even Momentum won't be able to save him. There's always one thing you can guarantee politicians will do and that is look after themselves first.
Bottom line, the big guns of the Labour party will distance themselves and form a new party leaving Corbyn and the loony left Momentum on their own.
Either that or Corbyn will be gone along with Momentum.

Momentum will shortly go the same way as Militant Tendency and for the same reasons.

Classic! Burnham's celebrating but understandably not with Corbyn. http://www.itv.com/news/2017-05-05/n...o-celebrating/

Re: Local Elections - 2017
Back to the topic, the UKIP vote around here took a nosedive, and the Tory vote rose by almost the same amount - not hard to figure out what happened there.
In our local result, the swing was nothing short of amazing.
In 2013, the Lib Dems won with 45% of the vote, the Tory candidate got just 8%, UKIP 13%, and Labour 31%.
This time the Tories won with 39%, Lib Dems 2nd with 28%, and UKIP got 7%, Labour dropped to 23%.
At one point in the (not so distant) past, this was a Labout stronghold.

Re: Local Elections - 2017
As has been said many times, UKIP's job is done. We had the referendum and that was their main thrust. That their votes have now gone to the Tories is no surprise as that is the party committed to pushing it through.
Nigel got out at the right time.

Re: Local Elections - 2017
More bad new for Labour not too far from me as well, in the Ashfield district.
They were virtually wiped off the map by a local Ashfield Independents Party (who took 5 seats off them).
