I think I will be overpaid
Checked my payslip this afternoon to see what I would be getting Friday. Expecting to get just £32-odd for the job I did on December 19, however I am getting £166-odd. The slip says I am getting over £133 for holiday pay, yet I believe that I am not due any more holiday pay.
Do I email my area manager and ask him, or ask my immediate manager or keep quiet and wait for them to get in touch saying that they have realised they overpaid me? Never been in this position before so not sure what to do. Thanks for any advice. I might see if I can get my immediate manager alone tomorrow to ask her.

Spill the beans now because the bean counters will catch up with you in the end and if you've been (see what I did there? ) less than truthful it will be a black mark against you.

That's what I am worried about, I'm sure it is all fine but I am so paranoid they are trying to force me out.

If it's fine, and you raise the concern, you haven't lost any money (and look honest/good). If they have made a mistake (that they are probably going to realise some way down the line) then you still look good (but lose the extra money) and possibly gain some meager brownie points.

Keeping quiet could mean paying back in the future so I would not do that.
Who do you have a better relationship with? Contact them, they may just say ignore it. If they do then who gives a crap. You alerted someone who shrugged it off:P

Re: I think I will be overpaid
Mark I would speak to who is in charge of your time sheets and ask them to contact the wages dept with your concerns, I would also put the extra money aside until you know that is is yours that way you won't face financial hardship if they have made mistake you can give them the over payment back right away and if no mistake was made and the money is yours breathe a sigh of relief and spoil yourself with the extra money.

When in doubt, do the right thing...
Plus it's not worth the anxiety that comes from not doing the right thing.

Re: I think I will be overpaid
I would do it via email so you have evidence that you contacted them asking about the over payment.

And if you have been overpaid, ensure they sort out the tax side of it too! I got stung like that before!

Re: I think I will be overpaid
My line manager said I can have 2 minutes to talk to her later on. I'll just ask who I need to speak to at HO about pay.

Not much of a line manager if she can only spare 2 minutes for you.
I have heard cases of people being overpaid and spending it before (allegedly) noticing. They've not always had to pay back in these cases as it's not their fault. However be open and honest and do whatever makes you feel comfortable/sleep at night.

Re: I think I will be overpaid
She was running the count today, so on those days it is grab a minute where you can. She said it is unlikely I am being overpaid, but if it really worries me to wait until Friday when the woman who does wages is back from holiday and email her asking her to look into it.

Perhaps it's because I've just finished a 24 hour shift and in the middle of doing a 96 hour week but I'd say you've done enough, you've asked the manager and she said it's unlikely, that'd be enough for me. See what others think though, my judgement is quite possibly impaired right now

Re: I think I will be overpaid
Keep it all on email so you have evidence of what you've told them and vice versa.
