Installation Query

Hi, im having TiVo installed next week.

Already have

2x V+ Boxes
1x V Box
1x Superhub

So that is 4 cables, going to a 4 way splitter inside the omni box.

When TiVo is installed into another room, that will create 5 cables.

Is there a 5 way splitter?

after all my ongoing signal issues previously, and having just resolved them and recieving a perfect signal level of 0 dBmV on the superhub I dont really want the installer splitting one of the cables with a 2 way splitter, and certainly dont want any more splitters inside the house.

how will they get around this problem? presumebly they wont pull a 2nd drop cable lol

Re: Installation Query

if it was me I'd fit an hdu and put a two way splitter on one of the taps, other option is a second drop. Chances are you'll get a tech who will just bung a 2way splitter on the 4 way. If he does do that make sure the samsung boxes are on the splitter as they can work fine with a low signal/high upstream

Re: Installation Query

Just had TiVo installed.

Like you said, in the end the engineer put a 2 way splitter on 1 of the 4 way ports.

No HDU though, he said he didnt carry them, he only had a small unmarked van.

so signal level on 1 of the SA V+ boxes and an SA V box is down to -9 dBmV again now.
