Re: USB connection to PS3?

The USB ports on the Playstation 3 are not for internet use. You wont be able to plug any USB device into the PS3 and get internet through it, Sorry.

It would be possible to setup Internet Connection Sharing on your laptop and connect your PS3 through that but tbh its not going to be a very good connection and would be useless for online gaming if thats what you want to do with it.

When you say you have wireless. Do you mean you have a wireless router and the USB is a wireless adapter or do you mean you have a USB internet dongle like from Orange or O2 that type of thing ? if its the latter then I'm afraid its useless really like I said in my first post but if you do have a Wireless router then the PS3 has built in Wi-Fi you can use.

Re: USB connection to PS3?

Is it a ps3 wifi dongle or a PC wifi dongle? Perhaps the make/model number of the device would help

Re: USB connection to PS3?

What does it say on the dongle? It'll probably say in small print what model it is.

Well we tried to help, I'm not sure if I'm reading your post wrong but it seem's a bit disrespectful to me so I shall not be posting in this thread again.

Very very rude, No need for that post!

Who would want to help you after that?

Sounds to me like its a dongle so NO you cannot play online games using it! it would create too much lag so it would be pointless!

Get a 10mb package with Virgin if you want to play online, oh and be more respectful with your posts

Missaussie

I think you lost all hope of help with that rude comment to somebody that was trying to help you out of the goodness of their heart.

If you don't have the technical know how don't insult other people that have especially as you need their know how to help you!
