Catch up tv freeze

When watching tv programes every thing is fine but when i watch anything on catch up the programes freeze a lot . some times you even get a loud crack sound when picture freezes .

What could the problem be with the catch up tv side of things.

nebudchadnezzar is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: Catch up tv freeze

Been getting this exact same issue for a long time !
It does it at random, sometimes its fine, sometimes its just completely unwatchable, like trying to watch digital TV with almost no signal
I have reported this before, but every time i do they "cant find anything wrong"
A few times i have unplugged the STB for a few hours and left it, when you plug it back in the on demand works fine, but the problem comes back after a while, this leads me to think there is a problem with the STB itself (old silver samsung)
I guess the next step is try to get an engineer to swap out the box

Re: Catch up tv freeze

Have a look in my Virgin Media and check your area status, there is a known issue with on demand http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/TV/bd-p/tv It would appear that it is continuing.

It wont be the return path signal that is only used to initiate the stream. More then likely is a signal problem, low or high or suck out on one of the frequencies the VOD carrier is on.
