Upgrade to nougat 7.0 from marshmallow 6.0

Hi,just got a new moto g4 phone and it is nagging me to upgrade to nougat 7.0.Now looking at forums, many people ( in relative terms)are complaining about various issues happening to their phones after the update. Now these are not luddites like myself, but people who are well versed in mobile phone technology who are complaining.Has anybody had any problems with updating and if i do update and the problems happen can i just return the phone to john lewis for a refund?.

Re: upgrade to nougat 7.0 from marshmallow6.0

I updated to nougat on my Samsung S6 about a month ago. Took ages, and most of the visual "improvements" are worse to my eyes than what they replaced e.g. all the icons have changed to a more muted appearance. There may be improvements under the bonnet, but they aren't obvious to me at least. In a nutshell the phone isn't any faster or slower, just slightly different.
Given my time again i'd probably have left it as it was, although as you mention it doen't half nag to update and i'm not sure if you can turn that particular notification off.

Re: Upgrade to nougat 7.0 from marshmallow 6.0

I updated a Samsung Tab S2 and needed to factory reset. It was really slow for a while but has now stabilised and works fine. You can change icons and other appearance (look out for temporary free installs on play store).

It's worth checking for specific issues on your device to see if they would be a big deal for you but updating will ensure you get future patches and updates. If it's new you are less likely to have issues with needing factory reset so better to update BEFORE you install all those apps and like.
