No launch date for Sky1 HD has been given out by Virgin Media - yet.

New Sky advert in the press today (penalty spot) reiterating that Sky have 5 HD sports channels, VM have 2, BT have none.

Surely if VM were sure of having SSN in the next few weeks, they'd advertise this against the spoiler tactics of Sky.

nobody knows but what tends to happen is that sky laucnch channels pretty quietly and as soon as they secure the deal the channel launches.

VM on the otherhand like to keep thier customers waiting and make a big song and dance about securing deals. also VM like to try and make a big thing about launching muiltiple channels and as such we find out about channels one at a time but a few launch at the same time.

VM dropped the ball with Comedy Central HD by allowing it to leak via their channel listing PDF and as such had to let customer know officially as there were so many rumours about it after the leak.

Comedy Central HD will launch on the Virgin Media Platform on Wednesday1st September 2010.

You can find Comedy Central HD on your EPG at channel position 133

We are happy to announce that we will be releasing Comedy Central HD on 1 September which will bring our number of HD channels up to 26. You’ll be able to watch programmes like Two and a Half Men, 30 Rock and South Park in high definition. You’ll also be able to access some of the HD programmes on demand. Comedy Central HD will be available to XL TV customers.
With the arrival of Comedy Central we’re moving the channels around a bit to make room. Here’s a breakdown of what’s going to happen when:
Comedy Central channels
• Comedy Central Extra is moving from 134 to 185 on 19 August
• Comedy Central +1 is moving from 133 to 134 on 24 August
• Comedy Central HD is arriving at EPG 133 on 1 September
Farewell
We’re sadly saying goodbye to Sky Real Lives 1 & 2 on 19 August. They’re currently on 281 and 282.
FX on Freeview
On 20 August FX will be available as a freeview channel for all. Currently the channel is in the XL pack at channel 157.
Repackaging
We are also doing a little repackaging. FX HD, channel 158, will go from from XL HD to M HD from 20 August to 20 September. You’ll be able to enjoy FX programmes including Dexter, Nip & Tuck, NCIS and Family Guy. Sky Sports News, channel 516, is being repackaged from M to M+ on 23 August.

A: Living HD will launch on Sky Digital. But us Virgin Media viewers will see some channels moving about as we will get Sky1 HD as well as Sky News HD, Sky Sports News HD, Sky Arts 1 HD and Sky Arts 2 HD all coming sometime before 2011.
