Unhappy Skoda Fabia Windscreen Wiper Problem

My windscreen wipers don't return to the off position but stop mid windscreen.
Any ideas folks.

Re: Skoda Fabia Windscreen Wiper Problem

The most likely cause is a fault in the stop switch on the motor.

Re: Skoda Fabia Windscreen Wiper Problem

The wiper motor normally has a microswitch unit attached to it, the units can sometimes become loose or wears out. It's that microswitch that keeps power to the wiper until it gets to it's home position.

Re: Skoda Fabia Windscreen Wiper Problem

My neighbours' Fabia did the same thing... it was a very stiff mechanism under the bonnet that was stopping it... WD40 all over the mechanism sorted it.

Well you know the old saying

Quote:
“All of life’s problems can be solved with two things—duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn’t, you need duct tape. And if it doesn’t move and it should, you need WD40.”
