Composer Marvin Hamlisch has died.
You may not know the name, but I'll be surprised if you don't know at least one of the film soundtracks he composed. He worked on films ranging from "A Chorus Line" through "The Way We Were" to "The Sting" and "The Spy Who Loved Me". He also wrote several iconic themes, including "Nobody Does It Better" (from "The Spy Who Loved Me") and "The Way We Were".
He is 1 of only 11 people who have won all four major US entertainment awards, the Emmy, the Grammy, the Oscar and the Tony.
He is also 1 of only 2 people who have won all the above, and a Pulitzer.
A very talented man, and a sad loss. RIP Marvin, you entertained a lot of people over the years.
