sorting the DOG out is the least of the worries before that Sky and VM need to get a grip and stop playing each other and their customers for fools and offer the SS F1 channel as a standalone channel for a monthly fee. if not Sky are not going to gain many more customers other than the ones they currently have with the HD pack or SS sub and VM are never going to gain any customers by only offeing in in the full SS sub !!!

Why would they ? They've paid millions for the rights and are using it as a way of enticing A. People to the platform and B. Existing customers upgrading to HD.

Re: SKY F1 HD Channel, Any Chance?
well Sky 1 HD is in there as well as other Sky channels so it would have been possible. Im sire VM would have been able to have affored it and then VM could get more customers and Sky get more money from people signing upto XL pack as they would get a small percentage

No other channel has the logo that close to the top. See my acreenshots. Your TV is cutting a thin slice off the top, but not enough to matter on most channels.

As Spiderplant says it must be the TV , I have it on a plasma TV and an LED and it's fine on both.

I know what sky are trying to do but I'm in an unfortunate situation where I can't subscribe to sky as my landlord won't allow it and I can't justify £30 per month just for F1. I'm really really not interested in football, golf, cricket and the rest of the rubbish that's on sky sports. The only thing I'm intersted in is motorsports.
If sky want to sweeten their customers then good for them but due to the fact the F1 contract was ordered to sky on a silver platter by the BBC then it would be a good idea to offer it as a standalone to maximise the customer that don't have sky and don't want a full SS subcription but sky are too greedy to think of that !!!!

Your TV isn't showing all the lines of the picture, but there isn't necessarily any setting you can adjust. It's normal behaviour for some TVs. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overscan
Presumably your V+ is connected to a different TV.

At the risk of going over old ground here, I find myself in the unusual position of on Sky's side here-and in fact the answer to your gripe is in your own post. The BBC alone are to blame for the fact that f1 is no longer free to air-it is their greedy desire to retain a footprint in the sport at the expense of the viewing public that is the problem. Had they acted in the best interests of the sport's fans rather than of the trust then we 'd now be looking forward to a free season, in hd, on channel 4. Hard to blame Sky for any of this.

Ya the V+ is connected to another TV and its a pain to disconnect it from upstairs and try it downstairs. But again when the V+ was connected to the main TV before i got Tivo that was fine on all channels as well. Its just this one channel thats an issue

You have to remember that it is business designed to make money.
However much companies dress things up, and try and make out they are doing things for the good of the customer, the truth is that the only reason they do anything is to make money. As well ast trying to out do the competition.
