Can't talk to modem

Just had my ten year old NTL modem replaced by a VMDG280, everything works, but it won't respond to 192.168.0.1 Only suggestion I've found so far is to try another browser, but Chrome , Firefox and IE all time out. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Graham, I've tried that. 192.168.0.1 is the address the engineer left and it's also written on the modem label so I'm pretty sure it's correct, plus I can ping it and get a response.

A reboot has fixed it, but ominous after only one day

Please post the Upstream and Downstream stats from your modem just click http://192.168.0.1/ the username is admin and the password is changeme, then click on the small red writing that says advanced settings then look down the left hand side and under Maintenance click on connection and copy and post the details from there.

The reboot fixed it after one day but as he can now access the config pages it would be interesting to see if they are within spec, I read the both the first and post and his answer to Graham before posting the above.

Re: Can't talk to modem

Power 9.0 dBmV isn't good ..

Although if you don't see any issues, not worth worrying about ..

As Nopanic says if it is working then leave it alone, the engineers who post say 8/9 on the hubs are usually fine.

Re: Can't talk to modem

Most will work +15 to -15 however its not wise to be at the extremes.
If you dont get issues at 9db (your return power is great) then dont worry.
