I'm the opposite, I hate most remotes that aren't the TiVo one now, its top class.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Is there a way to stop TIVO recording suggestions for shows you have series linked as "new only"? I cannot tell you how annoying it is to have to wade through 50 episodes to find the two you actually want. I don't really want to turn off suggestions completely, but you'd thing "new only" would mean just that?

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
One trick I do when I series link something, give it 0 thumbs or put a minus thumb on it. Suggestions then don't record that programme.

Not really. Suggestions and series links are 2 separate things. The settings for a series link won't affect suggestions in any way.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
The only way I can think of is to reduce the number of thumbs up or even give it a thumbs down, shouldn't effect your series link but may stop tivo recording them as suggestions. Bear in mind this may effect shows it suggests you may like of a similar nature.
Beaten to it.

Re: General TiVo Discussion Part 3
Thanks for the suggestions (see what I did there). Yes I did think about "thumbs downing" it, but if you are going to thumbs down stuff you like then it's not going to record similar stuff which is surely the whole point. I think it would be better if it left suggestions in the folder rather than pulling them out into the main program folder, or was intelligent enough to note the preference in the series links and act accordingly. I think it's one of the TIVOs few failings.

Set series link for the new series of a league of their own.

Been there and had the exact opposite I have a series link for Live WTA tennis and all the shows are marked NEW but TiVo said the second show was a repeat of the first I changed for record NEW to record everything. It looks like you have the inverse of this problem. I note that both shows are marked as NEW in the EPG but are the same episode.

The episode data is missing, so the TiVo can't tell which are the new ones, and has to record them all just in case. To get it fixed, send an email to tivoguideerrors-at-virginmedia.co.uk.
