How long does it have to be off before you can claim compensation?

You can't for on demand as it's a service provided for free

Re: Catch up

Mine was off for a day and I received compensation upon request without any problem.

In the NTL days I was told that "I couldn't complain as the service was free"!

I told her that I regarded the service as an integral part of what I paid for, that it was not for her to decide what customers complain about and that I would complain to the regulator if nothing was done. I received compensation until the fault was rectified.

If enough people complain and cost them money it will hopefully lead to improvements, but if people are happy to put up with this I'm sure VM will be happy to let them.

Re: Catch up

As a catch up /on demand service Virgin really do lag along way behind Sky now. Not sure why they've allowed it to fall so far behind Sky? It's an old, stuttering service that's very much 'hit and miss' these days.

Watching the BBC i-player always was problematical on the old Tivo and I ended up resorting to my Smart TV to watch that and Netflix.

The new V6 has eliminated these problems and I no longer use the smart TV to get into either.

As I said above, on the V6 it's perfect.

Not sure how it all works but maybe they're concentrating all their resources on the new box and as a result the rest of the service is suffering?

But isn't the underlying software the same?

As I say I have no idea how it all works but what I do know is that some on demand programme are not available on my vhd box but are available on my TiVo box.

How can that be true, OB, when Virgin have acknowledge that their is indeed a problem with the catch up service, i'm sure some people on here are having problems with it and they have a V6!

Re: Catch up

The current issues with On Demand aren't specific to the V6 box
