Virgin Webmail Block Sender List
A minor issue from a Blueyonder user which bugs me (don't they all?).
When I recently needed to block a particular nuisance sender (who persists in distributing emails with large attachments and is thus constantly a "full mailbox" risk to his correspondents) I found I was unable to do so by entering his email address into the Block list. By experimentation (with his and with other email addresses) I noted that Virgin Webmail will only block small emails (say, up to about 100mb) but will ALWAYS allow through large emails or else those with attachments from the same sender. I can't be more precise about the conditions for blocking or allowing without further investigation but, needless to say, if I block a sender I want to block all his emails and not just a minor selection.
Those poor people in Virgin's India call centre can only give me standard advice such as increasing my spam filter settings which is totally irrelevant to this particular problem.
I appreciate I can delete the mails by Email Rule when they are downloaded to my PC (though due to their size any download can take ages) but this does not stop them arriving on the Virgin Mail Server in the first place and potentially filling my mailbox. I would also suggest that this particular feature of Virgin Webmail is a godsend to anyone malicious enough and with enough nous about them to send 3 or 4 large emails to multiple Virgin recipients and bring multiple mailboxes to a grinding halt.
Does anyone else know of this problem and is there actually a solution that India and I are not aware of?
