trouble connecting philips 5.1 surround sound to new samsung v+ box

i today got a new samsung v+ box but cant seem to connect my philips 5.1 surround sound..,i have tried everything but am stuck..the old v+ box was ok because it had audio out at the back so i used that to connect..but the problem is there is no optical output at the back of my surround sound and no audio output at the back of my v+ box..help please..ta

you need an input not an output

if there is no optical input is there a coaxial spdif input .... if so you can connect this to the coaxial spdif output on your v+ box (if it has one .... i'm not siure if mine does or not as i use optical and i can't be botherted to mess about ripping my box out of the stacker system that its mounted in)

if there is no coaxial output from the v+ box and your surround sound has a coaxial input then you can buy an optical to coaxial converter from maplins>>

i have had a look at the back of my surround all there is is audio in,aux and video out..back of my samsung v+ box i have a spdif dobly digital and back of my tv i have optical digital out and all the audio plug ins and cant seem to get connections right to channel my sound thru surround..please help

Or you could use a scart lead with Audio connections to pass this into you sound system

No he hasn't because the OPs kit doesn't have any digital audio inputs.
