RIP V+ box
My V+ box has died and a replacement is coming via a engineer, the guy on the phone said it was an old box and bereplaced with a Tivo box.
Will that be an old Tivo box or a V6 Tivo box?

Re: RIP V+ box
You could get either.
(Why are they sending an engineer rather than a self-install, though?)

I'd rather have one, plus I can ask him about connecting it via CAT5.

Re: RIP V+ box
I assume you'll also get a monthly charge now for the TiVo/V6 as this didn't apply to the old V+ box?

Re: RIP V+ box
Anyone who is changed onto a TiVo or V6 box as part of a fault swap doesn't have a price change.
Same applied when the SA V+HD boxes were decomissioned.
Just to point out that the V+ HD boxes do have a monthly fee if you're not on Full House / TV XL

The Scientific-Atlanta V+ boxes have been decommissioned, but there are lots of Samsung ones remaining.

Re: RIP V+ box
I was told it was a FOC swap for a TiVo.

Re: RIP V+ box
If you want a SCART socket, do not get the V6.

Re: RIP V+ box
The problem is that some of the converters either don't work well or not at all. However, if the benefits of the V6 outweighs the TiVo, then getting around the V6's lack of SCART may be a price worth paying.
