Re: PSP firmware v5.00 & PS3 firmware v2.50
Out tomorrow 15th with Flash 9 support for the web browser
http://www.ps3fanboy.com/2008/10/14/...-with-flash-9/
Features in 2.50 - - Pads and the PS3 itself now have tweakable power-save settings for turning off after a period of inactivity.
- You can tell the PS3 to power down once it's finished downloading or installing content.
- In-game screenshots can be taken in compatible games.
- It enables high-quality mode for the official PS3 Bluetooth headset.
- The Trophy interface has been improved, so you can see you and your friends' progress more easily.
- Friends now have their last login time listed.
- Videos now have a scene search feature.
- There's a button on the PlayStation Store frontpage for redeeming codes.
- Flash 9 support
- see optional EXIF information while viewing photos.
- the Y and Z and Q and A keys have been remapped for the German on-screen keyboard.

Re: PSP firmware v5.00 & PS3 firmware v2.50
Main thing I think for the PSP is the PSN icon on the XMB, including full PSN Store access.
For the PS3...
An update: Flash 9 officially confirmed!

Bah, iPlayer still doesn't work though - even though the browser now has Flash 9. Now just get a "You need Javascript" message...
Aha, but ixalon at DS has upgraded ps3iplayer.com now we have Flash 9 at last
Still not as good as if the iPlayer site itself recognised the PS3 browser, but better than before.

you can no longer sign-out from your name in the friends list. You have to do it from the account part which is slightly annoying. ( only because I was used to doing it the other way)
Also the BBC are working on a version of Iplayer for the PS3 anyway so that should be good
Edit**
Another thing thats annoying me a bit is that now when watching video and you press the PS button to load the XMB the video pauses. Now I know this is not really a problem but I liked the video playing it the backround if I was just checking something quickly
