One time I was playing X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, and I had 4 TIE Advanced on me at once. I was trying to boost shields so as to get some manoeuvering room and take them out one at a time - but every time I pressed the appropriate function key, I was baffled to see power going to weapons instead! Needless to say, the Imperial **** blew my X-Wing to tiny flinders!
It kept happening every time I played. I scanned my system expecting to find some weird keyboard virus. Nothing.
Then it hit me. I opened the keyboard - to find it gunked up with...you guessed it...cat hair! That was why keys weren't doing what they were supposed to!
One quick but thorough cleaning session later, and I reflew that mission - and this time I was the one doing the blowing away, ha-ha!!!

I find dropping a cup of tea with 2 sugars does the same
