Aung San Suu Kyi wins seat in Burma Parliament
Not official yet, but the NLD are claiming the win.
A small victory on a long road to be travelled yet, but a very significant and symbolic one. She finally gets the seat she should have gotten 25 years ago, be it as MP rather than PM/President. I'm quietly hoping this is a watershed moment for Burma. The Junta and associates will still hold at least 80% of seats (with 25% guaranteed), but the NLD finally gets a foothold in parliament.
The latest set of reforms by the Junta have been rather surprising. They finally appear to want to come out of isolation.

Re: Aung San Suu Kyi wins seat in Burma Parliament
They have had enough of falling behind economicly to India and China, so they have relexed a bit, but remember legally the NLD won in 1990 and still have been deined the right to form a government, they also spend huge amount of their budget on the army and on building a new capital (just of keep them on power). I hope they have sense to let Democracy happen, but I don't have high hopes
