Question Just a quick question about a V Box

Hello and thank you for taking some time to read my post I have a quick question about a standard V box that a friend of mine has.

Basically his daughter has the box and lives at a different address then he does and he what’s to know if it will still work at his house if he gets it and installs in his house will it still work. she is still paying for it on her account it just coming from her house to his and that’s all so would be possible to have one box install at one house and then have the box moved to another house will it still work

Hi no problem does depend how local it is being moved but it does work within the local area, as on one occasion I tried it.

Lol just like I said it is against the vm terms of use to move boxes from one property to another as the box is provided contractually to an account and the account is providing services to an address to the account holder.

Hackers used to clone modems to steal broadband.

Vm maybe able to trace it of moved so be aware of that hope that helps lol

Re: Just a quick question about a V Box

There is a good chance that it will work for a few minutes, When I moved house a couple of years ago I took my V box with me and connected it up in my mew house (new house was only about 300 metres away form the old one). Got all the channels for about 10 minutes then everything got blocked and it showed a message saying to contact Virgin.

Hi there.
So long as the other house, where you intend to install the box is on the same UBR and has the same network id, it should work absolutely fine. I know a few people who have done this, although it is against virgin's t's and c's LOL.
