0345 numbers

Are these numbers free to call on a virgin mobile contract? Can't find their actual charges anywhere, but I'm sure some helpful person will guide me.

Re: 0345 numbers

Yes, it is free to call 0345 from Virgin Mobile

Virgin Mobile accept that 0345 Numbers are to be charged at the standard local rate, this means that if your are on contract or Virgin Mmobile Pay As You Go calls to 0345 Numbers are within you inclusive price plan and as long as you have minutes left will not incur an extra charge.

Re: 0345 numbers

Some people online say calls to 0345 numbers are free and some say it's not. Has anyone called an 0345 number from a pay-as-you-go vm mobile recently?

Indeed

http://ask.ofcom.org.uk/help/telephone/03number

Quote:
Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than a national rate call to an 01 or 02 number and must count towards any inclusive minutes in the same way as 01 and 02 calls.

These rules apply to calls from any type of line including mobile, BT, other fixed line or payphone

Re: 0345 numbers

Thnks for the quote above

In a nutshell, if you have inclusive minutes in your contract that calls to 0345 telephone numbers will not cost you anty extra as they will be treated just the same as calling a geographic number starting with 01 or 02.

If you do not have inclusive calls then calls to 0345 numbers will become chargable at the following rates depending on your network

Mobile Network Price Per Minute
0345 Call Charges 3 (three) 3p per minute
0345 Call Charges Allpay Mobile 15p per minute
0345 Call Charges ASDA Mobile 8p per minute

0345 Call Charges Freedomtalk 8p per minute
0345 Call Charges iCard Mobile 8p per minute
0345 Call Charges Lomo Mobile 10p per minute
0345 Call Charges LycaMobile 15p per minute

0345 Call Charges Sainsbury’s 8p per minute
0345 Call Charges Smart Pinoy 10p per minute
0345 Call Charges TalkMobile Essentials 8p per minute
0345 Call Charges Talkxtra 7p per minute

0345 Call Charges Victory Mobile 4p Per Minute

0345 Call Costs Lebara Mobile 19p per minute
0345 Call Costs Now Mobile 10p per minute
0345 Call Costs O2 35p per minute

0345 Call Costs Tesco Mobile 25p per minute
0345 Call Costs The Co-operative Mobile 8p per minute
0345 Call Costs Vectone 15p per minute
0345 Call Costs Virgin Mobile 26p per minute
0345 Call Costs White Mobile 6p per minute
0345 Call Costs Wildlife Mobile 18p per minute

I have also created a call costs calculator that will tell you how much a particular call to an 0345 number will cost on a per network basis.

I do need to crack on with updating today, so if anyone does notice that prices are out of date compared to 2 weeks ago, please give me a shout

Tony

Re: 0345 numbers

The correct term is inclusive, or standard rate if on a PAYG.

So for the majority of cases 0345 is much superior to 0845.

The correct term is "They cost the same as 01 and 02 numbers".

"Standard rate" has been abused enough as it is along with "National rate" and "Local rate"

Can't see any situation where 0345 isn't superior than 0845, unless you're that guy who makes money off cold callers by using a revenue share 08 number.

Re: 0345 numbers

The only situation I can think off is where you might have unlimited inclusive 0845 but for some reason not for 01/02/03. Not sure if such packages exist tho.

However some companies seem to think 0845 is better for some people as they say they keep 0845 still available for those where it costs less than 03xx.

I have never heard of any such package.

The only companies that "keep 0845" because it costs less than 03xx only care about how much it costs for them, or they are misinformed.

Re: 0345 numbers

Virgin Media do have some add on plans that cover 08xx numbers separately to your standard landline plan.
