V+Box - Recordings Lost

Hi everyone,

Have encountered an error with the V+ box this evening.

Went to watch a programme recorded last week, but am getting a message that says this recording is from a channel which is not in my current package.

I have checked all the other recordings, all from different channels, and i get the same message.

The programmes have been recorded from 4HD, Nick Jnr and Crime Channel.

All these channels are in my current set package selection.

When viewing the planned recordings for the future programmes, they are in the list, but appear to have been corrupted. The programme title is replaced with " recovered content " the channel for the recording is replaced with " unknown ". Dates and times appear to be ok, but the length of the recording is at 1116hr and 2 minutes ??!!??

Have had the box approx 18 months.

Is it time for a new box ?? Have the series links somehow corrupted ??

Phoned 151 but no joy, just got told my line was working OK, so will try tommorrow am to get a better service of support.

Any ideas ??

Cheers

Jason

Re: V+Box - Recordings Lost

Ring VM and explain your problem. Not sure what will happen re. replacing your V+ because they are discontinued. I read elsewhere on this forum that they have a limited supply of refurbished units. Chances are they'll try to switch you to a Tivo. With regard to existing recordings, I'm afraid that you've lost them (in all probability).

Re: V+Box - Recordings Lost

Going to call VM this morning .... Will update.

Fortunately, we had watched a majority of the programmes the previous night, so no great loss.

Re: V+Box - Recordings Lost

Possibly a HDD reformat will solve this. However if a replacement box is required, there are still plenty of V+ boxes around.
