Will I get a ticket?
Before anyone has a go yes I was in the wrong.
I was speeding through the tunnels in Brum and a car was following me. Turned out it was a police car. Was not a traffic or patrol car. Just a silver Peugeot with a lone officer.
I slowed down to turn off and the car then pulled next to me sounded the horn and made a slow down gesture with her hand.
I then went down my turning and the officer carried on the same way they was originally going.
Will I get a ticket?

Re: Will I get a ticket?
You were not pulled over and just signalled you to slow down so very unlikely unless she catches you doing the same again.

Re: Will I get a ticket?
Unlikely, she might have pulled you over if you were weaving in and out of traffic, not indicating, and generally driving dangerous.
Speeding isn't necessary dangerous, its how you are driving at the time.

Absolutely. This happened to me too. I could have been caught doing 90mph on a motorway once but as the conditions were dry and well-lit the cop just signalled at me to to slow down.
However had he chosen to ticket me I'd rightly have had no defence.

Re: Will I get a ticket?
So just how fast were you going Central?
It sounds like you've had a narrow escape
In my young and foolish days I did 175Mph down the M62 for a spell, these days I rarely go above 80 to 85
As an aside note it might be worth you buying a lottery ticket this evening

Did you know they done away with the limit of prosecution for a written confession?

Re: Will I get a ticket?
Cops must not be so nice around here. I got caught doing 80mph on the motorway by an undercover cop and got 3 points and a fine for it! Worst part was I was with the flow of the traffic with the cars in front and behind doing the same 80mph... Sad really that they single people out. I always say if you can't stop them all, don't stop any of them as that's hardly fair. Doesn't stop them though. They have targets to meet I guess...

Re: Will I get a ticket?
They can't, that's my point. But if only 1 person is speeding, fair enough pull that person. But if the whole motorway is speeding then why single out one person?
