Speed Test
When checking my speed, which server should I be using? I know it used to be Maidenhead,, is it still that one?

Re: Speed Test
testing to the same servers from other ISPs, ive seen the namesco server hit 600mbit from a leased line, and it struggles to hit 100 from a VM connection

Re: Speed Test
it looks like I have had my ass stm'd but i dont know why because i have downloaded absolutely 0000000000000000000 this evening.
Just tried 4 other servers and they are all the same. Newsgroups time.............
Newsgroups isnt going to give me a reliable picture of speed because it wont go above 40k/sec; there is some serious traffic shaping going on.

may they did their maths wrong again. Remeber when they tried to change the max traffic rate on 100mb customers from 100.24 to 110 and they changed it to 1.1mb

Re: Speed Test
Not sure why, but ever since we got upgraded to 60Mb, the best speed I have recorded is 20Mb, and it seems to be constant at that?

It happened to me 3 nights in a row
I have been recording my usage and i will be sending it in shortly with a complaint. I was stm'd the second night because i downloaded 2 gig, 3rd night it was 1 .7 gig. I am about to leave for Birmingham for a meeting and i expect to be STM'd when i return even thou my pc will be off. I have checked my wireless and no one is logged into it.

Sounds daft but what are you using earlier in the day?
The reason I ask is because on my 10Mbps which was a downgrade from 50Mbps so on DOCSIS3 I can download whatever I like (I have done maybe 15GB or more on occasions) before 4pm with no STM at all but soon after 4pm even pretty trivial usage results in it being STM'd if I did clobber it early on.

Re: Speed Test
Just tried that V/M shown above, and I'm still not even getting 20Mb, let alone the 60Mb I'm paying for?
