Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
Apparently, a software update will take place at 2am on Good Friday morning.
I've no idea if this is just for the V6, or for all TiVos in general.
Thought I'd give others the heads up in case this requires a reboot and recordings are interrupted. Often these can be re-scheduled .
I'm hoping that this will restore the missing channels on the V6.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
For the V6, a reboot command will automatically delay itself until there are no planned recordings happening.

Didn't know that, it's now saying reboot pending (because it's still recording).

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
I can't see anything different and RTE is still unavailable.
Didn't turn off my TiVo in case it hasn't sorted out the problem of the box not recording whilst in standby.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
I had a quick look at my TV this morning and see that I now have the ability to semi-fast forward a recording. It's probably not something I would use although it may be useful for some users. Is this the same update mentioned here or have I just missed it up until now?
Also, what other enhancements does this software update bring with it?

Has this fixed the issues with coming out of standby? had this option turned off since I had my V6 installed after reading about the problems but ideally I would not have the box permanently on.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
In addition to QuickMode it should fix the standby, failed recordings, and reboot on playback issues.
It also introduces new power saving settings for the V6.

Just to add, not all V6 boxes will have it yet. Those that haven't will be updated after Easter.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
When you get the 'update pending' indicator - you can reboot the box and force the update straight away.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
Hope this isn't a sign of things to come.
My recording of Wigan v St. Helens rugby league kicked off and immediately skipped 11 or so minutes (happened on both v6 boxes)
No idea why - could this be connected to the new software?

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
more likely softthing caused both boxes to rebooted at same time - a power glitch perhaps.
Or perhaps a break in the signal to the house.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
I do find it odd that this has been rolled out right at the beginning of the holiday period.
Aren't these sort of things usually done outside of any holidays in case something goes wrong and staff are off work??
I believe that there is a freeze on this sort of thing throughout Christmas.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
This isn't a major update so 99.9% is exactly the same.

Re: Update to take place at 2am Good Friday morning.
My vhd box rebooted this afternoon at around 12:10! No idea why as I don't see anything changed?
