If you want to watch TV on your computer, you will need to buy a TV card or USB stick.

The devices listed here are for developing applications using video capture. They generate a known signal in the same way a hardware capture device would. They cannot receive television as your computer will not have the hardware required.

If you want to receive TV on your computer, visit the various channels websites. Most of them carry live streams now.

Hello

With Virtualbox...

But in the text they say

The driver simulates the front-end components of a PC/TV, including input selection, TvTuning, TvAudio control, and digital video streaming

So i think i can install the driver start my windows media center and then the TV Card driver should be in the List am i right?

And what elst does the Driver simulate?

No idea. Sorry. Why don't you read the specs to find out what it does - how are we suppose to know without looking as well?

Re: Looking for a TV Emulator for Windows7

The problem with what you are asking is simple. Unless you have a TV card, your computer does not contain the hardware necessary to recieve and decode broadcast TV.

Now, as I said, most TV channels do have live streams on their sites now, but these often contain copyright protection stopping them being used outside their website. Thus stopping you using them with other software.

There *are* programs around that can break this protection, but discussion of this is banned on the forum.

tvvee - are you sure you're not just after a tv card / usb stick that's compatible with ubuntu instead of windows?

If all you want to do is watch TV on your ubuntu system why do you need a VIRTUAL as opposed to a physical card?
