Re: Modememulator for ubuntu
What are you trying to do
If you are trying to communicate with something, be it by dial up, broadband, bluetooth to a mobile, or whatever, you need the actual hardware in your computer, or attached to it. Anything else just does not compute.

Re: Modememulator for ubuntu
if you have used a windows app for this you might have luck running it via wine.

Re: Modememulator for ubuntu
I'd suggest you ask the question on a specialist Ubuntu support forum, rather than here where we are more concerned with real communication technology rather than imaginary.

Yes you can post them here, but don't you think it would be better to post them on a linux / ubuntu site where they will know more about the questions you ask?
Incidentally this is a sub section of a CABLE forum (The clue is in the name).

It's possible. However, we only cover computing because it's an extension to our primary goal, which is helping people with problems with UK Cable TV. Specifically Virgin Media.
As such, the bulk of our users use Windows, so we do not have as many Linux users as a dedicated Linux forum would have. You would be more likely to get a better answer on Linux forum, simply because there are more Linux users on those forums, so you are more likely to encounter a Linux expert.
Not that I am saying we have no Linux experts here. I think we do.

Actually this is a cable TV forum with a small computer section, I will though help you one last time and that is to suggest you try the ubuntu forums as you seems to be going round in circles here asking the same question many different ways and getting the same answers as you got on the german forums throughout this last year..
