Re: Han radio

Have a look on sky/virgin tv if you have it and see if bbc wales is available as a radio station. Failing that, go to wales and use a normal radio

Heavens, that takes me back to the day.......

To pass out of 2nd School of Technical Training as a Telegraphist, we had to be able to receive at 25wpm, and send at 20wpm - later on, in "Special" Sigs, we had to take it at 40-50wpm, which meant we had to use electric typewriters, as we couldn't write that fast.

Tchh - try telling that to the kids of today.......

He doesn't need that???

He just needs one of these to jump a few light months ahead of the signal and then he can listen to it...

A retired one yes, my licence expired about 4 years ago and I haven't bothered to renew it yet with one of those licences for life. There's a Kenwood TMG707 knocking about in the house somewhere and some extremely large vhf antennae gathering cobwebs in the shed.

Re: Ham radio

FT80C (commercial version of the old FT747), FT8100, FT7800, FT50 (2 off), VX5 and VX1

Most of the radio stuff these days involves APRS as we're trying to modify it so that we can real time telemetry our dakar bikes/cars from a support truck..
