I'm not making assumptions, I manage the platform and I set the rules.

If you managed it, then there was a fault at the point of creation, when you delete a mailbox it is not deleted it is disabled. I'm not going into platform details but don't delete it in the hope of recreating.

And data protection is about saved e,ail addresses, as in if I used nopanic@vm.com for my bank, I delete it and you get it, my bank emails you.
