Install Question (s)

Hi

I'm about to order the switch from Sky offer (i'm not really worried about install date at the mo) and am going to order the following:

TV XL
BB XL
Tivo
V HD

As I will have 3 distinct services (BB in Office, Tivo in Lounge, V HD in upstairs bedroom) will this be catered for in the normal install? Will this be 3 seperate cables from the street into my house? Im unsure of the split externall/internally.

Also I want the Engineers to Leave my Sky dish/cables and BT Phone intact - is this normal/catered for?

Also do the engineers finish the install off with a wall plate or box? I don't fancy any more trailing cables!

Sorry for so many questions!

Re: Install Question (s)

There is one cable run from the street, usually to the front of the house which will terminate with a small junction box. From there cables are run to the locations you require the modem / set tip boxes. Depending on the layout of the house, this might be one or two cables that then are spilt at junctions internally. Most cables will be routed clipped to skirtings, but they are normally terminated loose so you can connect these directly to the cable devices. There may be small internal junction boxes on the skirtings where isolators are fitted.

They don't need to touch wiring for Sky or BT phone, indeed to touch the BT master socket would contravene regulations.

Not strictly true being as you would need to open it up to move a customers extensions to their new service. Which is expected.
