CD drive trauma

I have a data CD which I need to print a file from and I cannot get my CD drive to read the CD.

When I go to my D drive icon and double click I just get a message saying that the device is not ready.

I have left it for 5 mins and tried again. still getting the same message.

I have tried ejecting and starting again but still the same message.

Any ideas?

Hi K.A. what o\s are you using... does it show in the device manager ? if so try removing it and then restart windows so that windows re-installs the drivers.

Let me know
