Re: Bsod
Its very difficult to diagnose an error like that without pulling the PC apart, as its when it came to load windows it could either be a hardware fault or a driver fault, are there any other errors in the System log? Try unplugging everything unnecessary and plugging them in one at a time.

Re: Bsod
No other errors today or for the last week, from what I can see.
This is the first time it done this, so could it be a one off ?
I am running beta graphic card driver but that been for the last few weeks

Re: Bsod
the event in the log should have an associated Event ID and Source. if you make a note of those and go to www.eventid.net and put in those details, others may have experienced it and noted it under the details and comments section.
very useful site.

Re: Bsod
Garry - The error code in the event viewer indicates the BSOD Stop code, in this case Stop 0x50 - PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA
Usual suspects for this are dodgy RAM or (wait for it) dodgy drivers.
If it croaks again, I would roll back those video drivers.

Re: Bsod
memtest is best ran before bootup...
plus, a page fault in non pages area i s usually caused by an unstable overclock.

only usually if you only see overclocked machines. My experience of this is its never because of an unstable overclock because the machines I see come from regular Joes who never tweak. I do think you will find most causes of this are nothing to do with overclocking your experience is more to do with how you do your business.

Re: Bsod
Could also be something as simple as a power fluctuation....... Unless a BSOD repeats itself on a regular basis then it's not really a concern.. Remember it is Windows
