Are we back to normal?

This morning I find that all three Tivos have suddenly returned to a performance level not seen since before the recent update. I have not done any resetting or changed settings in any way. I live in the Hounslow area of West London.

So far so good. Let's hope this proves to be a full and permanent resolution to slow response issue.

Thank you Virginmedia!

Re: Are we back to normal?

After reading your post I checked and found the same; a better performance level. I am in Camden, north-west London.

Good news indeed. Let's hope it's a permanent solution.

Re: Are we back to normal?

Firmware version? Maybe you've been rolled back to the previous ( not good but just OK) version.

Not having a TIVO I can't say what that is. Maybe Spiderplant can confirm?

Re: Are we back to normal?

No change here unfortunately, if anything it's gotten worse with the EPG occasionally freezing & the time elapse gauge sometimes freezing and having to catch up in one go whilst FFing or rewinding recordings.

What have the technicians you have called out to look at your problem said about these issues?

Where have u got that idea from? It's pointless, an engineer can't do anything, they'll just replace one useless box with another.

How do you expect Virgin to fix the problem if they don't send someone to look at it?

How do you know an engineer cannot do anything? There may be some fault with your connection that the new software is badly affected by that he or she may be able to fix.

That's just silly, Richard. There is clearly something wrong and it needs fixing.

Re: Are we back to normal?

I had a box switch recently. The new box performed much quicker, but has now settled down and normal service has resumed.

The occasional reboot makes it a little quicker, but that doesn't last long.

Re: Are we back to normal?

Slow performance is to be expected on this old box, but Richard seems to be having more problems than most. He needs to get someone in to look at it.
