Re: Porting from VMB to VM

I believe the process is referred to as a "restriction lift", disconnect the VMB number and VM arrange this process to unrestrict the number and transfer to a residential line. I cant be totally sure though, best speaking with VMB who should be able to confirm.

Re: Porting from VMB to VM

I understand the restriction lift is what two VM CSAs did but number wasn't released then was told that VMB will not release to VM as business to personal, two managers did speak to me re and said absolutely nothing could be done and only chance of saving the number was to reconnect with VMB , as I did but so want to lose that cost and get tivo etc!

Re: Porting from VMB to VM

Just rang up,

VM say YES SURE you can port the number
VMB say NO YOU CAN'T

Also for anyone thinking of cancelling with VMB it's a 90day notice period not 30 days

Re: Porting from VMB to VM

The official word is that they won't transfer the number as it's going from a business account to a residential account and residential phones should not be used for business..

Not really an issue for us as very few had the old number and the phone was in the workshop. Will probably not even use the phone if it's replaced..
