Liberty companies to acquire stakes in Formula 1?

"Liberty Global, the international arm of Malone’s empire, and Discovery Communications are working alongside Liberty Media to purchase as much as 49 percent of Formula One Group from private equity powerhouse CVC Capital, sources said."

Re: Liberty companies to acquire stakes in Formula 1?

Remember when Liberty bought VM and their boss said they wouldn't go head-to-head with Sky over sports rights.....Well, technically Liberty aren't competing against Sky for sports rights, they're buying the actual sports instead....

There's one massive battle in the media world looming between the big tv/broadband providers and in the short term this should be good for consumers.

Speculation this morning that Rupert Murdoch's 21st Century Fox has held preliminary talks about a takeover of Discovery Communications both parties are denying it however.
