According to amnesty international he wasn't even a significant threat to his own people anymore when we acted.

The thing is that by the time Bush and Bliar decided to try illegal* regime change he was not a threat to other middle east nations or anybody else.
*International law forbids declaring war with the aim of toppling governments. however odious.

Remind me was that the politically correct amnesty international who were the only ones speaking out when we were selling him weapons, chemical and otherwise to use on his and others people when he was a significant threat to his people and everyone in the region and amnesty weren't the ones who were taken in by the lies bush and his cronies told, unlike for instance our own leader, if you haven't realised that after all this time perhaps it's best you just stick to the future of linear tv

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
In our world, we have loads of dictators that should be overthrown. And disposed off. But then we have do gooders that believe that we should bring them to justice.
But then how many people of the justice system re corrupt in foreign lands.
Its like we have our own Soldiers wo are doing a job. Yet, get penalised any years later. The UK and other countries in the Alliance operate those countries in need. We give that help. Should be criticised for carrying out that role. No we should not.

What are you on and how does this relate to my comment? Incidentally, I was never in favour of selling weapons to Saddam Hussein. He was always a dangerous maniac with little consideration for life.
One of his sons was ten times worse, and was making threats about what he wanted to do to the western world.
If you think, based on no weapons of mass destruction having been found, that this man wasn't dangerous, perhaps it's time to unsew your eyelids and take the plugs from your ears. Assuming you don't also have a peg on your nose, try smelling the coffee as you awake.

Oh no the nasty man was making threats, I don't recall seeing that on George's list of rationales for war/ invasion, it should've been as it is no less ludicrous than what was already on there and it's not only me that was saying he wasn't dangerous but the cia, our own foreign office and the actual Chilcote enquiry except instead of dangerous they use grown up terms like significant threat.

Re: Saddam Hussein Executed
There are far more pressing issues going on in the world than going on about someone who is now worm food so get over it. What is done is done

There is nothing we can do that will bring back those who have given there lives. We will never be able to bring the likes of Blair and Bush to court to be tried for taking us in to an illegal war. So we might as well get on with life and hope we never see this happen again whilst remembering those who fell. Dont get me wrong i would love to see Blair and Bush be dealt with but the truth is it will never happen.

It is true that bush and Blair etc almost certainly won't get their just deserts but if someone speaks out whenever someone else tries to claim what they did was a good thing at least the actions that led to so much death and misery won't be legitimised (even if it is only for that conversation), it doesn't stop anyone getting on with life and imo it's the least we can do.
Good to see you're still about btw
