I believe if your old one is faulty there is no charge, call 150 from you VM phone.

Only if it's fair wear and tear etc. If VM deem it due to misuse, lack of care etc they'll try and charge you.

If it turns out you have to pay, it's probably cheaper to buy one from somewhere like eBay.

Must hunt mine out and flog it before this box becomes obsolete

You are correct, I think that would apply to any item even if it was under warrantee.

Just say the numbers are worn out on the control ( even if the dogs eaten it !). Tivo remote numbers rub off very quickly. Remotes are cheap, unlike your VM subscription; no way you should pay for replacement.

Yes we are on our 3rd remote already and surely by now you would have thought they would have sorted this out.

Re: Replacement remote for V+ Box

Exactly, they once wanted me to pay for a replacement after this happened.

I gave them two choices, either send a free remote or cancel all services.

They chose the former

Re: Replacement remote for V+ Box

Don't worry too much. One of my remotes packed in a month ago. Called faults, & once they had acertained it was not battery problems or the box, they put a remote on order. Came 5 days later via Royal Mail.

Before it came I then found one of the buttons on the "faulty" remote had become wedged in the casing. Once I released it it worked fine, so I now have a spare.

Yes, I kept my worn one as a spare one too
