MGM - £4.49 per month
Shudder (Horror Movies) - £4.99 per month
Love Nature - £3.99 per month
Studio Universal - £3.99 per month

If this is the future of streaming, at those prices, I ain't interested. It's not going to be long until the likes of UKTV and Viacom jump on the bandwagon.

On a side note todays launch is having a negative effect on my Amazon TV experience. A lot of these channels and their content are now present in the various search catergories. This along with the usual pay content means it's becoming harder and more confusing to find Prime content. Amazon Prime Video is the only reason I have an Amazon Fire TV stick and Amazon Prime account. I can only see it getting worse. Don't think I'll be renewing my annual subscription if this keeps up.
One website reviewing it has been pretty damning about it.

Frankly, I am surprised that Amazon, with its breathtakingly low prices and excellent services via its on line retail operation could have got it so wrong. This is going to be a terrible flop for them and a chastening experience.

There are people out there who think they would prefer just paying for the channels they choose, rather than bundles of channels, but look how expensive even these second rate channels are, subscribed to individually.

I want as many channels as possible on my TV, but I wouldn't pay this money for the choice that Amazon has on offer here. They don't float my boat, I'm afraid, and this will not take off.

Time for a re-think, so I hope they've got a Plan B.

Amazon are not a very nice company yes they have superb customer service but how they treat their staff is disgusting i'm talking from experience too.
I don't think they are as cheap as they make themselves out to be now for example ps4 games i have found much cheaper by as much as £10 with free postage on other sites such as Shopto.
I don't hold any grudges against Amazon though i just refuse to use them now on how they treated their staff when i worked there 3 years ago.
For me tv player plus £5.99, eurosport £6.99 (offers are around), shudder £4.99 (if you really want it but as stated £3.99 offers are around) is far much better value than Amazons offering, actually you won't need eurosport player as eurosport is on tvplayer plus.

Those expecting a selection similar to the US Prime were bound to be disappointed. The US TV landscape is vastly different to the UK. Biggies, such as HBO, Showtime and AMC etc. are already tied to UK broadcasters. Smaller ones, such as FX, CBS streaming service etc. sell their individual shows to UK Networks.

I'd be surprised if they can add anything of real significance, especially for those with a pay TV service.

Agreed, although American companies could choose to provide the UK with similar packages as are available over there if they chose to do so. However, they would have to wait for existing contracts to expire first.

Maybe I'm being too pessimistic, but I can't see that happening, sadly.

£4.99pm but it is a 12 month contract still quite good value though.

There is a lot of fierce competition out there and obviously the market was too crowded for them.
