Re: telecoms engineer

You might get a better response in one of the technical forums but I'm sure a mod will be along shortly to take care of that.

Best of luck finding something and thanks for your service!

Re: Telecoms engineer

Well you would think the resettlement centre would advise on this but no. They provide you with the knowledge of what your entitlement is where and who you can spend your resettlement money but they don't give any sort of advice on if that particular course and qualification will actually get you on the path your looking for. For example I can pay £4350 for a 5 week course resulting in getting a number of telecoms qualifications but are they the ones I need. That's the bit they can't give advice on lol

Re: Telecoms engineer

Telecomms is a wide subject. Everything from radio, line transmission, fibreoptics, etc. etc.

The Institution of Electrical and Electronic Incorporated Engineers (IEEIE) and the Society of Electronic and Radio Technicians (SERT) merged in 1990 to form the Institution of Electronics and Electrical Incorporated Engineers (IEEIE).

This is a body worth joining if you already qualify, or are looking to qualify. I am a lapsed member of SERT.
