Well, an ex student who is in a lot of dept after failing to find a decent job:

I'm not sure if I should laugh or feel sorry for him.

Expect to hear more debt like that here in the future ... top-up fees will exacerbate the problems of debt already faced by students.
Very soon I'll be making a very important choice - should I go to university and get into debt just for doing so or should I stay debt free and take what's there?

Currently students work (too) many hours just to be able to afford to stay at Uni, and socialise as they should. Eventually very few will be able to study full-time, as is the current norm, and you'll see a switch to part-time education with most students working full-time (rather than part-time at the moment). Not sure whether it's good or bad yet. The socialising side of things will be lost and Halls will go too

I've made the decision to forget uni and just go to college instead:

I'm going to be doing a BTEC National Certificate in Computer Studies plus a BTEC in Programming.
2 days a week in college for 2 years, 4 A-levels equivalent at the end of it and no dept!
