Mouse not working right
Hi all
I am having real problems with my pc's mouse...(dell)
When I click messages in Hotmail it tends to opens the incorrect one (often the one below with no movement by me)
If I click internet favourites I often have to do it a few time before the list appears and sometimes it appears then disappears!! ! !
I move the pointer left and it goes right or left really slowly and not excatly as I move it
Changed the batteries but still keep misbehaving...
Any ideas on this please.
Many thanks for your time
Regards
Mike

Re: Mouse not working right
Is it a ball or laser type mouse?
Ball types generally clog up and you need to remove the gunk from inside.
Lasers need a non-shiny surface.

Re: Mouse not working right
Just to clarify, is the point actully pointing at one thing, but the clicking something else - or is the pointer itself moving around without you touching it. Also is it cabled, or wireless.
if it's pointing at one thing and clicking another, it might be an idea to try a different set of pointers in case the one you are using is corrupt - although I've never heard of this happening before. (control panel > mouse > pointers > then pick a different set)
If the pointer itself is moving around then it's more likely the mouse itself is stuffed. try different surfaces, clean the bottom, re-install drivers etc

Re: Mouse not working right
You could try using another mouse just to make sure that it's not the mouse that's at fault.
