How long does a tablet retain its memory after losing power?

If any of my tablets runs out of power, it always remembers everything, including the open tabs to various websites when it's charged up again.

Is there a time limit as to how long it can retain its memory?

How can it do this without any power at all?

If the data is stored in flash memory, like that on USB sticks and SSDs then the period is almost indefinite and no power is required.

Tablets don't use conventional RAM (at least not for storage). They use Flash memory for most things, including keeping track of what you are doing with what app (s). They do this as most tablets are designed for a user to pick up, use, then put down. Later they can pick it up, resume what they were doing, then put it down again.

Flash memory is designed to store data for long periods, usually many years using little or no power.

Thanks, I did wonder how they were able to do this.
