In Car CCTV

This is for a project I am looking at doing.
I am looking for any advice on fitting CCTV internally to a car,it needs to have a removable storage system for about 8 hours of recording with the option of sound and would have to work in low light.

Look but don't buy You will get ripped off at maplin. Find something you like on there then google search for it. I can almost guarantee it will come up a lot cheaper, often 1/3 of the price cheaper.

it depends on what you want to do?, if its for recording your car while outside your house for instance then you might be better getting something like the wireless video units and have the receiver end inside your house connected upto any mains recording device you care to use.

if your intent is to keep all the kit inside your car then a simple inverter/pc/usbHD might be better.....
put a wireless card in it too so you can vnc into it while parked up and in range.

inverter

the Efika PPC board might be an option for DIY when it becomes available to ordinary users but not right now perhaps (unless you want to develop your idea's and receave a developers unit).

with one of the linux installed on a solid state HD or USB key would be able to run quite well
or perhaps http://www.genesippc.com/press.php?date=20061123 MorphOS an amiga compatable
type OS might be a better fit .

Efika uses only a few amps, around 1 or 2 i seem to remember and so could be powered directly with a simple DC to DC converter, but an inverter is probably easyer for must people (although it will use up battery power quicker so a secondary battery is wise).

remember to send me mine for free and ill beta the kit for you
