Thankyou. I'm going to take a look tonight. Will probably pick up the smoked salmon, some dill, and some prawns as everyone likes prawns. 
I do quite like good butter on sour dough bread too so will be picking up a couple of loaves.

We traditionally have cold cuts, pate, pickles and salad for lunch, then the big meal at 6pm.
This year it will be a leg of lamb with all the trimmings. Turkey and gammon are not our thing.

Our only prepared meal on Christmas Day is the big one around 2-3pm. Roast turkey and, this year, slow cooker roasted beef. We’ve moved house and no longer have a range with a wide & half oven, so having to slightly re-think the way I normally do things. Christmas pudding was done in the slow cooker in October. Will be served with brandy-laced white sauce, or pouring cream or custard for the lightweights. 
After that is a leftovers free-for-all for anyone who gets hungry.

As Ilive alone Christmas day for me is no different than any other Day. It could be a pork chop, piece of lamb or steak or whatever.
I see no reason to gorge myself for a particular day, I'll still eat well just as any other day.
I may have a couple of treats though and seasonal drinks.
I did, for about 5-6 yrs, cook a full turkey dinner (etc) for 6 of us but a few have died and some are unable now to attend due to health problems.
IMHO Christmas pudding should be served with white brandy sauce, not custard.

We will be having our son, daughter, son-in-law, grandson, son-in-law’s father for Christmas dinner, so traditional turkey (from a local farm), with pigs in blankets, roasties, Brussels Sprouts (cooked with pancetta and balsamic vinegar), cauliflower cheese, Yorkshire puddings, parsnips, sweet potatoes, various stuffings, washed down with Boekenhoutskloof The Chocolate Block red wine.

Makes a nice change to have it cooked for us.
